What is UMatter?
UMatter is a teen mental health support group, with the main focus of providing a nonjudgmental safe space for teens to support each other. Every session has a general topic, and discussions are teen-led. Support and tips are shared, in a facilitated environment. At every session, a professional gives their input and practical takeaways, there is a fun and relaxing craft, and light dinner.
UMatter's main purpose is for teens to hold each other's hands: "You are not alone in these struggles. We are here for each other."
Sessions Include:
-
Coping: How to deal with challenges that crop up, big or small. (Facilitated by Dr. Jonah Schrag).
-
Anxiety and Stress: How to manage stress in a healthy way - from school, college applications, and other stressful situations. (Facilitated by Shira Burstein, LCSW).
-
Self-Esteem: A healthy relationship with body & Body Image (facilitated by Jennifer Theriault, LCSW).
-
And more.
